Site Migration / Content Mgmt
The migration of the Kentucky/Indiana chapter website from the RedDot Content Management System (CMS) to Kentico CMS was a comprehensive project that involved several key steps:
- Migration Execution: I organized, planned, and executed the migration process, which included conducting a thorough content audit, developing a site map aligned with the national navigation structure for all chapter sites, gathering assets, and editing/optimizing images for web use.
- Site Buildout: I was responsible for the complete buildout of the site on the Kentico platform, ensuring that all content was properly integrated into the new system.
- Ongoing Maintenance and Optimization: I maintained, updated, and added to the site daily, consistently seeking ways to enhance the user interface and experience. This included implementing features that improved usability and accessibility.
- Styling for SEO and Aesthetics: I developed a consistent styling framework aimed at maximizing SEO optimization while ensuring aesthetic appeal and intuitive navigation throughout the site.

The transition from the old Kentucky/Indiana chapter website on RedDot CMS to the new site on Kentico CMS involved significant updates:
- A - Old Homepage (RedDot CMS): The previous homepage featured a vertical navigation structure that required careful planning for the migration.
- B - New Homepage (Kentico CMS): The redesigned homepage on Kentico reflects a modern aesthetic and improved functionality, aligning with the overall national site navigation.
- C - New Kentico Navigation: The new navigation structure was established to fit the national categories, presenting a challenge in reorganizing the content from the old site’s vertical navigation to the new site’s layout.
This migration required strategic planning to ensure that the transition was seamless and that the new navigation provided a user-friendly experience while maintaining the integrity of the existing content.

The updates to the Programs page significantly improved organization and user experience:
- A - Old Programs Page: The previous programs page lacked structure and did not feature subpages, making it difficult for users to find relevant information.
- B - New Programs Page: The redesigned page introduced new subpages that clearly listed current programs and their details, enhancing overall organization.
- C - Old Programs Listing: Previously, the programs listing page only provided links to Word documents containing program listings for the current month, which limited accessibility.
- D - Regional Program Pages: Separate pages were created for each regional area, featuring a comprehensive list of all programs with direct registration links for each event. This new setup was visually appealing and made online registration straightforward, replacing the cumbersome process of opening Word documents and calling an 800 number. The monthly program emails mirrored this content, including easy-to-use online registration links.
*Note: Due to COVID-19, these program pages are no longer available.
